If you don’t like the immigration laws - should have voted for Harris and we would have had comprehensive immigration reform. But she wasn’t woke enough for you all. Don’t blame the Jews - we largely voted for her. And Muslims largely voted for Trump, just like they have done in every election except for Obama. Because they are social conservatives. I don’t see you telling Muslims to speak to their masjids about Trump policies. Interesting.
I agree with most of this — it really should not be only Jews' responsibility to speak out against this, and our synagogues generally don't make public statements on political matters of any kind (though many rabbis do, and have). The alleged antisemitism as the ostensible reason for these deportations is also an example of people using Jews for political purposes.
I will say, though, I don't agree with deporting the Brown professor, even if she did attend Nasrallah's funeral.

It is reported that the government won't tell his wife where he is.
Trump cruelly signed his tweet with "Shalom", insinuating that he his operating on behalf Israeli government or American Jews.
Tell your temple to speak out on behalf of the Jewish community, that we reject this horrific behavior.
Not in our name!
JFC why is it a Jewish responsibility to do this? i feel no need to go to bat for this guy. he sure would not be looking out for my rights.
Really? You don't support the 1st Amendment? You support anyone being picked up because Trump's administration doesn't like what they say? That is the position of the DOJ directly right now in a court of law under oath hand on bible. Which by the way is 100% unconstitutional. I may not like what this person says or maybe I do but I dam well as an American stand with the Constitution and the 1st Amendment and not the Trump Administration's demanteling of the US and it's values and laws.

Because arresting a deporting someone who was here legally and who has neither been charged with nor convicted of a crime is a dangerous and slippery slope. It reminds me of the 1930s in Europe… and that should matter to Jews a lot.

Temples speak up about free speech all the time. There are plenty of free speech cases that Jews have spoken up for. This is not it.

temples have to be guarded in their politics to maintain tax status

It's not a Jewish responsibility. It something that, as a Jew, you might want to do.
