My older son had not even started growing at that age, while my younger son was nearly finished growing at that age. Both are normal. Also, as others have said, some boys just grow steadily over the years. Others have a huge spurt and grow a crazy amount over a short time. I think if the pediatrician did not have any concerns at his last appointment, you probably don’t have anything to worry about. If puberty/growth was not discussed at all, you could call/email and ask. Usually they will note stage of puberty on his chart. The rude comments and suggestions from acquaintances about growth hormones are just ignorant. Your DS isn’t even that short- especially for his age- anyway. Some boys are done growing at that height.
