We just turned down Field for another school that we think will be a better fit for our child, but were sorry to do so. I am very surprised people do not talk about the school more. It seems to fly under the radar and I am not sure why. The campus and facilities are beautiful and everyone we interacted with were so warm and friendly. It seems like a fantastic school.
It does fly a bit under the radar, but less the last few years and admissions have become tough. I think families recognize that it’s a lower pressure school with impressive college results. The teachers are fantastic, and the school-wide approach to inquiry and learning is inspiring. It feels like a cohesive approach to education and preparing kids for the future. The campus improvements have been great and the new building will allow the school to serve more students.
I’ve said for years that if college outcomes are an important factor in your school selection, Field is the best life hack in the area. If your kid is hardworking and smart, they will almost certainly rise to the top 20% of their class at Field. And unquestionably, the top 20% of each year’s class go to top 25 universities. Even the top tier of students at Field are under a tiny fraction of the pressure that their UNWDC peers experience. This is absolutely not a criticism of Field - the exact opposite.
