I’m a naturalized citizen, not too worried about it. If they throw me out I’ll deal with it.
Naturalized citizens are citizens, period. You can’t be thrown out unless they stripped you of your citizenship, which is an extraordinarily rare and difficult process. I have lived and traveled in an extensive list of countries, and have had to carry an ID in many of them. https://old.reddit.com/r/ItalyTravel/comments/1cgfcim/noneu_citizens_warning_carry_your_passport_on/ Hysteria doesn’t help anyone.
The thread is saying that non-citizens should have their passports and that citizens should have a form of ID. Not the same as walking around with proof of citizenship. Do you carry your passport or birth certificate to go to the grocery store or anywhere else? Stop telling people they are hysterical. That line doesn’t work anymore.
