Are you prepared for the ripple effects in DCs 'bubble economy'? The wave could hit you, PP. Restaurants, restaurant workers, housing, shops, etc. Not to mention these are good people, doing good work to protect you. Defense is not made-up. Do you have any idea what these people actually do?
I'll take my chances on the local hits. There are too many of them, doing too much repetitive work that is strictly 20th century, and padding the pockets of too many layers of people. Of course defense is not made up, but there is far too much crap involved in what goes on in this industry in Washington. Add this to the fact that many of them are "retired" military people who are collecting a lifetime pension and benefits for their 25 years in the service, and you have a perfect example of corporate welfare.
