I knew a handful of kids who were expelled from private schools when I was growing up, mostly for fighting and drugs. I used to teach at a PK-8 private school and we "counseled out" a good number of students who were disruptive or causing problems. The biggest private feeder high school also kicked kids out to the public schools for various reasons. Either way, it's almost impossible to get expelled from public school anymore. Selling drugs, sexual offenses, fighting that causes serious injuries, or bringing a weapon will probably get the student assigned to an alternative school but the district still has to educate them or pay for them to be educated elsewhere.
