Forecasts are more often wrong than right.[/quote] Many people need to plan in advance— especially those families with multiple activities going on in different directions. As for school, many teachers have long commutes and may have childcare and eldercare arrangements to accommodate on top of that. I’d rather have a few “wrong” guesses in the better-safe-than-sorry direction than either last-minute decisions or unexpected severe weather. People in other weather zones may have other priorities. When it comes to schools, early dismissals are the worst. [/quote]
