It lacked the curb appeal of the other house, but the layout has been so much better (we actually have a real home office and an extra bedroom for guests), and because it cost less than the other house, we had $ leftover for cosmetic updates, so it now has much better siding and landscaping that we could choose ourselves.

We still ended up just a few blocks over from “the one that go away” and have amazing neighbors whose kids are best friends with our kids. Like I can’t imagine if we hadn’t landed where we did.

Don’t lose hope OP. More houses will pop up this spring.[/quote]
