All kids in all grades take the same MAP test.  There is only one test.  The only difference is at what point in the range of questions / difficulty the student starts at.  The student starts at the exact point where they ended their test the previous time. [/quote]

OP here. Thank you for explaining. DC said something about a 6+ test? Does that mean all grades 6 and above take the same test?

And if my kid improved by just 1 point since Fall (Fall and Spring scores were same), doesn't that mean there is no improvement?

There is only one test.  If it is 6 , 7, 8 just means they will be using grade 6, 7, 8 ranges for percentiles.

OP here. This has me worried even more now. I do know that the teacher is going slow in class so all kids can understand. So besides supplementing on our own there is nothing we can do then?

DC said they struggled with functions and circumference questions. Is that usually in pre-Algebra or Algebra? Trying to figure out a starting point in Khan so DC can improve at least by Spring.

Don’t let the misleading PP freak you out.

There are +/- 7pt error bars on the scores.
Scores at the extreme high end are variable based on luck of the random question selection. Functions and circumference are algebra and geometry. Your child is far ahead of their class curriculum.

Take the Khan course challenges to quickly find a good level to study.

You can’t use Khan’s MAP test helper because your child is already above the highest level of Khan’s MAP test helper!
