We're going to need both.

Be sure to email Taylor and the BoE. They should use 1/29 for this one, reserving 3/31 for the next.  Unless you want them to extend the year, but I think we all know that's a terrible idea.

Next year is going to be the toughest calendar in history. Already the last day is 4 days later due to how many holidays are on that calendar. Adding the transition day just makes things worse as they couldn't find a worse year to do that and there will be 2 low attended days in late December (hopefully they still get credit towards the 180 even if the schools are ghost towns). In neighboring Virginia things are completely different with makeup days being far less likely to be needed.[/quote]

They're thinking they want to push the hard decisions down the line to someone else.
