More evidence the BoE is preparing to throw him under the bus. He's the one that's going to have to recommend the day. There's no choice that won't cause people to hate him. He's going to have to pick between students/families and teachers.
Until this storm, Taylor may have forgotten how make-up days work in Maryland. He hasn't had to deal with this before.
Taylor is probably too nice a guy for the job. He assumes everyone else is acting in good faith, not realizing those surrounding him- the Board, central admin, MCEA- would all love to pin their failures on him.

That's pretty much the only thing he's done. We already had orientations for new students and ES students. That was plenty.

If the Board has any sense of responsibility, this storm will be a wake-up call to adjust the calendar. Embarrassing, yes, but necessary. We need to add another 3-4 days.
