I do think the underdog narrative is effective in her case but I don't think she's as strong an actress. Given that Jolie was on just about every list until the BAFTA longlist omission, I also wonder if this doesn't have to do with her general unpopularity among friends of Brad, Jen, and Laura. Kidman wasn't on as many lists, but I did think she'd make it on. Other weird choices--Lily Gladstone for Under the Bridge and Nicola Coughlan for Bridgerton. Why? [/quote]
