I don't think so since Spencer didn't do well at SAG either. I think Kristen only made the BAFTA longlist since it was longer. Nicole is popular in Hollywood too and should've made it. She was stacking up the awards that Angelina didn't have. It's ludicrous Anderson made it over her. She won the NB and the Volpi Cup.

It seems like they knocked off the old actress (Angelina,Kate, Nicole) for newer ones.



Agree. You'd think her peers of all people would have respected the difficulty of that particular role.

Best Supporting Actress is unexpected as well. Surprised at Barbaro and especially Curtis over Rossellini. But glad Deadwyler made it in.

I had the *impression* (purely based on photos) that the veteran actresses did not exactly welcome Pammy into the club at the many precursor events held so far. *If* that is true, I hope she allows herself to cackle with a little satisfaction right now.

Daniel Craig was amazing in "Queer" - it needs to get more nods in general.

I haven't seen The Brutalist yet but it drops into my screeners next week (I'm a voting member) even though I plan to see it on the big screen, too.

It's just because it's something new and different, and features trans representation (if problematically according to a number of trans activists).

Interesting, not much agreement on the top 5. Jolie is falling off some of the lists. Then some have her or Kidman, but not both. Some have Torres or Jean-Baptiste, but not both. Most have Madison, Gascon, and Erivo, and many now have Moore. Tight race!


I think Madison, Gascon, and Moore but not sure about the other two. Would love for it to be Torres and Jean-Baptiste, but that seems unlikely.

Brody is winning the Oscar. I'm hoping he doesn't sweep, and Fiennes gets BAFTA and Domingo gets SAG.


I'm hoping that Fiennes gets BAFTA, Domingo gets Critics Choice, Chalamet gets SAG, and Brody...well, he did indeed do everything in this role, so I suppose he should win the Oscar, but I am just not a fan.

Best Supporting was all about Zoe Saldana initially, now Ariana Grande has the buzz.


I think Zoe will win it, meatier role and now has momentum with the Globes win.

Demi could win it. I wouldn't be surprised. Great performance, even better narrative, and surging at just the right time.
