I’m kind of shocked that both Pamela Anderson and Demi Moore maintained slots. They both have the same dark horse narrative with Demi Moore picking up huge momentum from her GG acceptance speech.
I expected Moore to get a slot, but am really surprised by Anderson over Kidman, Jolie, Jean-Baptiste, and Torres. I do think the underdog narrative is effective in her case but I don't think she's as strong an actress. Given that Jolie was on just about every list until the BAFTA longlist omission, I also wonder if this doesn't have to do with her general unpopularity among friends of Brad, Jen, and Laura. Kidman wasn't on as many lists, but I did think she'd make it on.
Other weird choices--Lily Gladstone for Under the Bridge and Nicola Coughlan for Bridgerton. Why?
I don't think so since Spencer didn't do well at SAG either. I think Kristen only made the BAFTA longlist since it was longer. Nicole is popular in Hollywood too and should've made it. She was stacking up the awards that Angelina didn't have. It's ludicrous Anderson made it over her. She won the NB and the Volpi Cup.
It seems like they knocked off the old actress (Angelina,Kate, Nicole) for newer ones.

Adrien Brody, Ralph Fiennes and Colman Domingo all seem to be strong contenders.
Kieran Culkin seems to be the favorite for Best Supporting Actor right now, though there was buzz about Denzel too.
Best Supporting Actress seems pretty open.

In theory Torres should be lock since she won the GG best drama but they also expanded their Latin membership. It could be Nicole/Angelina split votes allowing for her to over take.
The love the industry has for Emilia Pérez is perplexing.

Mikey Madison. At this point I think it will be surprising if Demi doesn't get a nomination.

Brody is winning the Oscar. I'm hoping he doesn't sweep, and Fiennes gets BAFTA and Domingo gets SAG.

Best Supporting was all about Zoe Saldana initially, now Ariana Grande has the buzz.
