Young people are usually still setting up their home, so maybe a Christmas cookie jar, rolling pin and cookie cutters? You could to a nice chef's knife and cutting board. Or a set of steak knives. Or an immersion blender and soup recipe book. Nice wine glasses from Crate and Barrel and a bottle of wine?
What? No. The Ugg slippers that OP's son suggested are perfect. I'm aghast at your sexist suggestions. And I cook and bake. But these seem a lot like gifts for this woman to serve/perform for OP's son.
Everything can be taken wrong way by woke culture but cooking stuff is more of a wedding, hostess or housewarming gift, not a Christmas or birthday gift for any gender.
Everything is not about being “woke”. Buying a young woman who is cohabitating with your son knives and blenders and wine glasses is tone deaf at best. Let’s be real - there are people RIGHT NOW who think it’s the woman’s duty to cook, clean, entertain, and serve. My point was for OP to buy this young woman something FOR HER. Not for her to cook with, entertain with, etc. Because more than likely, that’s what the person that suggested those items thought.
