I'm pp who said it was totally fine to freeze it but I also have a rule about not keeping food that I know damn well I will not eat (restaurant leftovers I'm looking at you) just because I feel bad about wasting it. [/quote]

Not OP but I'm the same but frankly I don't care about food waste.  I don't eat 99% of leftovers.   DH on the other hand will save everything he possibly can then stare past it for days on end never eating it.  I eventually toss everything.  [/quote]

That is not the issue.  So many resources went into producing and bringing the food to you...all for it to be in a landfill.  A huge waste.[/quote]
