Putting all the alliances to the side, are there any methods to get known by the coaches outside of tryouts? This inquiry is geared around U13 tryouts. I recognize there is usually the game within the game, so I am curious if anyone has tips or tricks they could share. Suggestions on 6 months out, 3 months, 2 months, 1 month is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Check to see if any of those clubs have a Super Y team. Some of the super Y tryouts are held before the ECNL/GA tryouts which can give your kid extra looks.
super Y is the summer but I guess that could be something to see. I know brave had a super y team but never saw another club doing that. Tryouts are march so this would be 9 months prior but appreciate the idea
The tryouts for Super Y happen before March. Go to those tryouts to be seen prior to the ECNL/GA tryouts. Kid has to been seen as much as possible if not coming from a feeder club.
ok so let’s break this down for ecnl: Union: which club do you tryout for? VDA: which club? NVA: Loudoun doesn’t have super y tryouts. Arlington: straight forward
Union I think is Majestics. VDA has a team. NVA is Loudon. The point is to be seen. The ECNL/GA ID sessions will have a lot of kids competing for limited roster spots.
thanks. Are you getting seen by the right people? We have done super y before but it felt like a waste of time vs using the summer to reenergize and strengthen in other areas. Our team was mid level competitive so maybe that’s why we didn’t love. I’ve seen people do this now that you mention it, so maybe you are right. I just don’t love super y tbh.
