would you mind sharing some of the trainers to look at?Anonymous wrote:Some private trainers work with a lot of ECNL/GA kids. They know the club coaches and will put in a word for your kid if they’re training with them and have the talent.
Anonymous wrote:reachout to the directors over ever club in each alliance to see how many players they need? Not being sarcastic here but does that actually work? Also, how do you navigate missing practices at your club during the summer due to super y with another club?Anonymous wrote:Reach out to a Director not the coach. They know who will coach next year not the coaches. They should also have an idea of what they need moving from u12 to u13. Are they picking up 4 players because they have 14 good ones or are they picking up 9 to 10 because the squad is weaker.

Check to see if any of those clubs have a Super Y team. Some of the super Y tryouts are held before the ECNL/GA tryouts which can give your kid extra looks.
Syc mclean arlington springfield and alexandria definitely had super y teams. We used this as a way to get my kid seen.
This is a horrible idea. The Super Y coaches are typically third or fourth team coaches.
Super Y is how my kid who is now U15 started her ECNL journey at U13. Didn’t come from a feeder club but tried out for Super Y.

thanks. Are you getting seen by the right people? We have done super y before but it felt like a waste of time vs using the summer to reenergize and strengthen in other areas. Our team was mid level competitive so maybe that’s why we didn’t love. I’ve seen people do this now that you mention it, so maybe you are right. I just don’t love super y tbh.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:ok so let’s break this down for ecnl: Union: which club do you tryout for? VDA: which club? NVA: Loudoun doesn’t have super y tryouts. The tryouts for Super Y happen before March. Go to those tryouts to be seen prior to the ECNL/GA tryouts. Kid has to been seen as much as possible if not coming from a feeder club.
Union I think is Majestics. VDA has a team. NVA is Loudon. The point is to be seen. The ECNL/GA ID sessions will have a lot of kids competing for limited roster spots.
