We "visited" another club because we wanted to make the move in the following summer. I hate tryouts so I wanted to get my son some visibility before tryouts. There are league rules on this (depending on what league you are in/looking to go to) so make sure you do your homework. I did the homework and was within the rules, but my son's current club at the time freaked out and removed him from the team...with no refund. Just straight kicked a 9-year-old out of the club. He was their best player and attended every practice. Dedicated and put in the work. In our case, he is a good enough player that the new club wanted him to join their top team...so I didn't really care what the old club thought. But if your situation isn't the same then you should beware. Clubs are ridiculous.
Is that even legal? What was the justification for kicking him off the team when you had paid your fees? If you didn’t break the rules how were they able to do that? It just worries me because we would like to make a mid season move but the team we are looking at has a lot of players who know our current team. If word gets back I don’t want my DC kicked off a team without an offer.
This is a slam dunk lawsuit against the club if you’ve paid up. They do not own you.
