My job is much better with Republican administrations in office, but I support many social issues that republicans don't, for example, the right to have an abortion. Republicans, though, are better supporters of Israel- another reason I like Romney.I don't want public school funding to be cut- a reason to vote for Obama. The list goes on.
Are you basically libertarian? Vote for Romney. That's what most of us are doing. He doesn't personally care about social issues and won't make that part of the Rep agenda his priority. (Now Paul Ryan I wouldn't vote for but I'd never vote for Biden either.)
I have been undecided but ultimately, this is the way I'm leaning as well. Like OP, some social issues are very important to me (women's access to healthcare and abortion being one of them) but a) I do not think they are AS important at this time as the economy getting under control and b) I don't personally believe Romney will devote much of his time to taking down Roe v. Wade when he's got so many other pots about to boil over that he'll need to get control of first. Certainly not in his first four years. Now, if he were re-elected to a second term, he might start devoting more of himself to social issues and then I'd be concerned. The beauty is, I don't necessarily have to vote for him in the next election should he win this one. It's not a perfect decision, and it took me awhile to reach it. I may yet change my mind, but recently here, I've been leaning more and more toward voting Romney. Obama was an easy choice in 2008 but I just can't commit myself to him so easily this time around.
