Oh please. There is no "war on women." And I'm a woman. We are drowning in debt; I want that dealt with, not some paranoid social issue stuff.

Choice is simple. Either republican party or democratic party.
But if you are a DC resident, you can always pick the coctail party

So not true anti-Israel rhetoric. Israel does not want a war.

Netanyahu absolutely wants war. That's all he's been chattering about for years.

He wants to keep the pot stirred up so the US will always be around to put out the fires. Israel needs the US far more than we need Israel.

This is not an election where there isn't a dime's worth of difference between the two candidates because they have totally different ideas of where they want to take the country. Romney and Paul want to go back to the 18th century , but Obama does want to keep us in the latter quarter of the 20th century.

Having said that I disagree, I suppose I should explain. Concerning the social issues, perhaps I place more importance on them, but mainly I think that Republicans in Congress place even more importance, and will drag Romney in directions I do not want to go. At the very least, as others have said, the Court will demand his attention, and I fear the result.

As to the economy, I think Obama's failing was not the direction he tried to go, but that he did not succeed in going very far. I don't think Romney's plan to take us back in the opposite direction will be good for the country, although the natural swing of the economic pendulum may make him look good.

Also good arguments. I think, also, I would have more respect for Obama at this point if he just admitted, as you said, he did not succeed in going very far with his plans. I could stomach a "It's been a long, hard 4 years. We tried the best we could, and we fell short in some areas. Give us a chance to keep going and see if we can't achieve our goals with another 4 years." Instead, he's perpetuating this notion that he and his policies have been a wild success. They just haven't. Perhaps he really believes it. Perhaps in his mind, he's achieved everything he set out to achieve. It's hard to know with politicians whether they truly believe all the things they say, or if they're simply furthering what they believe is a palatable lie. This goes for all politicians, not just Obama.

Are you basically libertarian? Vote for Romney. That's what most of us are doing. He doesn't personally care about social issues and won't make that part of the Rep agenda his priority. (Now Paul Ryan I wouldn't vote for but I'd never vote for Biden either.)

I have been undecided but ultimately, this is the way I'm leaning as well. Like OP, some social issues are very important to me (women's access to healthcare and abortion being one of them) but a) I do not think they are AS important at this time as the economy getting under control and b) I don't personally believe Romney will devote much of his time to taking down Roe v. Wade when he's got so many other pots about to boil over that he'll need to get control of first. Certainly not in his first four years. Now, if he were re-elected to a second term, he might start devoting more of himself to social issues and then I'd be concerned. The beauty is, I don't necessarily have to vote for him in the next election should he win this one.

It's not a perfect decision, and it took me awhile to reach it. I may yet change my mind, but recently here, I've been leaning more and more toward voting Romney. Obama was an easy choice in 2008 but I just can't commit myself to him so easily this time around.

I'm highly informed. As you can tell from my post, part of why I'm not concerned is that I do not think the reversal of Roe would amount to the disaster others think it would.

There isn't a majority of conservatives on the court now who would overturn Roe. And if they did, many states would still have legal abortion. The country would galvanize in the pro-choice direction. I'm a woman and I'm not concerned.

Well, that's kind of the point. NOW. But two Romney appointees change the ball game. Scalia, Alito, Thomas, maybe Roberts, and Romney appointee 1, Romney appointee 2. [This assumes that Ginsburg, Kennedy and/or Breyer are the ones to go in the next 4 yrs].
