Wow.  This is precisely the reason essays need to be scanned for AI.  My kids all wrote their own essays - no consultants and no AI.  We, as parents, certainly didn't write them.  Unreal that you assume most people are doing this - but if they are, I hope adcoms are scanning.

AI scanners are notoriously unreliable so I would hope they aren't using them. But I think it highly unlikely in the limited time they have for processing apps that they are taking the time to do that. Probably more likely that they may suspect AI based on writing style and either consciously or unconsciously downgrade their assessment.[/quote]
