At this point I don't have any faith in the integrity of essays submitted by students. I suspect that parents, consultants and AI are responsible for a large number of essays now. Paying someone to write the essays just simplifies the process and removes a headache.
Wow. This is precisely the reason essays need to be scanned for AI. My kids all wrote their own essays - no consultants and no AI. We, as parents, certainly didn't write them. Unreal that you assume most people are doing this - but if they are, I hope adcoms are scanning.

Nope. Not using Grammarly either. I have read so many horror stories and not taking the chance. DC just did it the old-fashion way with 2 sets of eyes to check for grammar/spelling at the end.
