There's more to the story: https://montgomeryperspective.com/2024/10/22/state-of-maryland-disputes-mcps-on-state-aid-gap/
The list of schools that will have finding moved to cover Woodward is stunning.
Why is the list of schools stunning? WT Page ES, Westbrook ES, Takoma Park MS, and Parkland MS will have their building improvement budget trimmed. What is stunning?
What IS stunning, is that those schools are already complete. The budget trimming is not a scaling down of a project in progress. All of a sudden, MCPS is realizing that there is leftover funds from those projects. The question then is, how many more projects in the history of MCPS capital planning, has had leftover funds? And where did all those dollars go????
