Over and over again, this type of information is such a slap in the face to teachers and families.

Good grief. What a mess. And Taylor still wants to insist that the “bones” of MCPS are still good?
The system is rife with mismanagement, incompetence and misinformation. People simply don’t know what they’re doing in Central Office. It’s time to clean house.
Taylor has done nothing to better mcps since he started. This is just the icing on the cake. He and the boe members need to go.
Already???
Didn't a poster above say this was put together before his time?

For every dollar MoCo sends to the state in taxes, it is estimated that only about 20-25 cents returns to the county in the form of state aid and funding for programs like education, infrastructure, and public services. The remaining funds are redistributed to other counties across Maryland, which may have greater needs but lower local tax bases.
Montgomery County, which has a higher per capita income and wealthier taxpayers, plays a key role in funding state programs but receives proportionally less funding back, especially compared to counties with lower income levels and higher dependence on state aid. For example, in fiscal year 2023, while Montgomery County received over $863.7 million in state aid for public schools, this amount is only a fraction of what the county contributes through income, property, and other taxes. Similar to Howard County.

The list of schools that will have finding moved to cover Woodward is stunning.
Why is the list of schools stunning? WT Page ES, Westbrook ES, Takoma Park MS, and Parkland MS will have their building improvement budget trimmed. What is stunning?
What IS stunning, is that those schools are already complete. The budget trimming is not a scaling down of a project in progress. All of a sudden, MCPS is realizing that there is leftover funds from those projects.
The question then is, how many more projects in the history of MCPS capital planning, has had leftover funds? And where did all those dollars go????
