There is an extensive plan already approved by the county to redo Rt. 1 from the county line at least until the start of Hybla Valley.  This will take 10-15 years to do and then it may extend into the hybla valley.  [b]Metro will extend to Beacon Hill shopping center.[/b]  That center and where the Target is will be upscale apartments/condos/ground floor retail.  Plans call for more than 10,000 new residents on Rt1 between county line and Beacon Hill.[/quote]

Metro rail extensions are wishful thinking till they actually break ground. The Bloop has been in the wishful thinking / dream stage for about 5 years. Same with Orange Line to Centreville (planned for about 40 years), and Yellow Line to PW County. It’s amazing the Silver Line to Loudoun actually got built. The Columbia Like Line to Annandale and Burke never got built, but a small section of tunnel was dug in that direction at the Pentagon Station. [/quote]
