The rest of Tyson’s, Pimmit Hills, and Potomac Yards will be redeveloped first.

Isn’t Hybla Valley near beautiful Old Town Alexandria with its boutiques and award winning restaurants? Historic Mount Vernon is also close by, as is the Mount Vernon Trail. Not huge job centers, but the surrounding historic attractions and bucolic scenery should give the area a boost in the long run.

Nearby, the old and historic Mount Vernon High School will become a new training center for all kinds of jobs and skills. The renovation will really transform it into a beautiful community hub.

They haven't even convicted the shopping center killer and those poor people were just dumped behind the 7-11 on Quander, across from Moon Inn (which is so sketchy).

Hi, not to derail, but we just purchased a house in Groveton and I’m glad you like it there. We aren’t huge fans of the seedy element at ALL but spoke to many folks in the neighborhood who didn’t say there were any issues. It is a beautiful house and our dollar went much further there, plus it appreciated quite a bit in the past two years.

As a Mason Neck resident, I’ve also been hearing about this for 20 years. Their offering extends through Lorton. Anyone ever hear of the delightful neighborhood called Hagel Circle?

Metro rail extensions are wishful thinking till they actually break ground. The Bloop has been in the wishful thinking / dream stage for about 5 years. Same with Orange Line to Centreville (planned for about 40 years), and Yellow Line to PW County. It’s amazing the Silver Line to Loudoun actually got built. The Columbia Like Line to Annandale and Burke never got built, but a small section of tunnel was dug in that direction at the Pentagon Station.

There are some older houses that end up rented out to people without a ton of resources. Some of those renters are a bit shady.

But the tear down activity proceeds apace, so over time it just gets more upscale.
