Straight men are not socially conditioned to read the room, to think about everything that needs to happen for a household to function well, etc. Once they're paired off, they let their partner take on everything they don't want to do but would notice if it weren't done (or they'd announce that there's another way for the thing to get done that requires no effort on their part -- have kids pack their own lunches, don't worry about Christmas presents, etc)[/quote]
