Probably not. The ADHD/ASD types are entirely oblivious. I feel this area has a lot of them, because they do well in jobs that require very high levels of technical expertise, and the DC area has a lot of jobs like this. In my little street, there are no less than three men with that profile. One of them can't keep a girlfriend, the two others have very unhappy wives.
I doubt it's just this area. Straight men are not socially conditioned to read the room, to think about everything that needs to happen for a household to function well, etc. Once they're paired off, they let their partner take on everything they don't want to do but would notice if it weren't done (or they'd announce that there's another way for the thing to get done that requires no effort on their part -- have kids pack their own lunches, don't worry about Christmas presents, etc)

No one wants to admit it, but most men are simply not built to handle the complexities of home management and child rearing. It involves too many balls in the air. They are better suited to singular focus. But since we now require "equality" we pathologize men when they struggle.
