I just bought something at the airport market and the cashier said "have a good flight" and I said "you, too!" These things happen. Just laugh about it.
I'm sure that happens multiple times a day to them. Like when a waiter delivers the food and says "Enjoy your meal" and you say "Thanks, you too!" They've heard it before.
I'm sure it does, but I still feel like an idiot. I don't go hit myself in the head or cry about it in the corner or anything. I just roll my eyes at myself and go on with my day. My point to OP was I think she probably feels a lot worse about what happened than she should. Once I tripped walking across the intersection by my condo going to the metro. I was MORTIFIED, which is ridiculous because I had sat at that intersection a million times before with metro traffic coming and going and couldn't have cared less what a pedestrian was doing. And had someone tripped I would have felt bad, not laughed at them. So sometimes even though logic tells you that something isn't a big deal it can still feel like one. Maybe that's anxiety speaking, I don't know. I'm not a generally anxious person but maybe I am more than I realize.
