These things happen. Just laugh about it.
I'm sure that happens multiple times a day to them. Like when a waiter delivers the food and says "Enjoy your meal" and you say "Thanks, you too!" They've heard it before.

I used to drink booze, pick my nose and flick it, get up, talk to other people, etc. Boss never said anything although I was let go a few months later.
A few months back, my H’s company got a new CEO and he address the 1000+ employees over a Zoom. After about 20 minutes someone who THOUGHT they were muted said “oh will you please shut TF up and let us get back to work”. Didn’t realize that they weren’t muted. And since it’s Zoom, it switched to their face and everyone knew exactly who it was.
It happens. We move on. Probability is that nobody else wanted to be there or were paying attention.

As a meeting facilitator some days all I have are quiet people with cameras off. Let me tell you, it's annoying. It does feel like you're not paying attention and that you're not participating.
I don't know if this is the case here, but it's like being a cheerleader at a pep rally you don't care about, don't want to be at, and nobody GAF but you have no choice.
So all you quiet people out there, just like you need to make an effort to practice a little small talk with a cashier, you need to challenge yourselves to participate, just one tiny thing a meeting.
Sounds like you need to do a better job running meetings.

This is how I read it.
