That's really sad and also makes me think of the trickle down effects. When you remove all the most academically focused and successful kids from a school it has negative impacts on all the kids. Because while only a small percent of kids are going to be true academic standouts there are a huge number of kids who might have one or two areas of academic interest or who have the ability to excel if properly motivated. Like you might have a kid who is a B student generally but is very passionate about science and puts a lot of effort in there. That kid should be in science classes with other very bright and committed students -- it will give him a better experience generally and also help prepare him to study science in college classes. Take away all the super academic kids and his science classes may be less focused with a much lower bar. He's missing out.[/quote]

Yep, it's yet another repercussion of the insane DCPS Covid policies.  
The best and brightest had other options and they took them.
