I nursed both kids until 3 and they are 2.5 years apart so there was some overlap. It was completely fine, kids are both healthy despite one possibly getting the wrong kind of milk! However I did not nurse the toddler in public, I told him it was for home only. The only person who said a thing about it was my mother.
So far, I’ve not really had any issues with milk supply, even leading up to giving birth to the new baby. For some odd reason, I’ve always tended to overproduce milk can have to pump to avoid encouragement. The only somewhat new thing that’s come up with the toddler ever since I gave birth is that she starting into this twiddling phase when I am not nursing, she wants to be able to use my other nipple like a rubber band.
