Unfortunately, Montgomery County prohibits the PTA (or anyone else) from paying for additional teachers or aides. The K classes at Rosemary Hills have 25+ kids per class with one teacher and no teacher aide. I believe there are one or two aides that rotate between all of the classes. What your child is explaining is probably correct. We know many families who have left this school for private (or chose not to attend in the first place) for the same reason your child complains of.
OP here. I can honestly see why people dislike public school. I did attend back to school night and only one other parent showed up. It was sad. I couldn't even talk to other parents to see how their children are doing. The teacher seems nice but come on, they all do. What happens after the door closes, I have no idea, but it always sounds negative when I ask my child. I will just keep an eye out on it for now and I understand requesting an aid is probably pointless. Do you think switching kindergarten classes would help at all? Has anyone done this? Or would it be too confusing for my child?
One parent showed up?!?! Wow... I know a school with 60% FARMS and Grandmas, aunts and cousins were showing up!
