See, now this is what we Republicans have figured out. Not all, but a good number of the other side would be happy if we just all died. I get what you are saying.  Republicans, especially those who are Trump fans, identify with him on a very visceral level, much more than they actually admire his presidential skills and abilities.  Discussions with actual Trump fans and videos I've seen of interviews with those who go to his rallies indicate that as much as they love him they have no clear understanding of his politics.[/quote]

And it's that visceral love that is so bewildering to me. Because Trump is objectively repulsive in every way. His mannerisms, his behavior, his ignorance, his appearance.
