We're in a drought, and things are very dry. Contact the homeowners and then police, if you haven't talked to them. It's so needlessly dangerous.
+1 Team OP here. It's absolutely bonkers to need to celebrate this way illegally. Everyone ok with shooting machines guns in the air too? Also illegal. And they are not doing this because they feel a true breast-busting patriotic need to express themselves. OP if you want to get elaborate, you can casually mention that you'll be out of town. Have a great holiday! Then hole up at a hotel and call the police so they don't suspect you.
Bingo. This is the kind of petty narcissist who complains about fireworks on 4th of July. Listen, I’m not entirely unsympathetic. I have dogs that are affected. And I don’t like fireworks going off randomly or way too late at night. But you’re talking about on the actual 4th. Please. Just let people have their fun and celebrate with friends and neighbors. I know some of you are just way too sophisticated and think it’s stupid; but at least in our neighborhood the 4th is easily the most festive old-school “community” day of the year. I love it! PS - I was worried about it being too dry, but we’ve now had several big rain storms the past week. Don’t think that’s a real concern anymore.
