Nope. I’m a Valor Parent and we truly have had a fantastic experience. Why would I recommend another club if I worked for Valor? For us, our team has become a family and the boys have become brothers. The growth in my son’s talent has increased tremendously since his Loudoun Rec days. As I stated previously, not every club is the perfect fit. Yes, Valor didn’t work out with other families. Families that left Valor were because their son didn’t get on the 1st or 2nd Team, teammates didn’t take soccer too seriously, may not have liked a coach. Not any different than other club. If it was so bad, then why do so many players return? Bashing another club solely based on hear say from an anonymous forum is comical.
We're one of the localized TSJ teams for the OP's age group. We have had a great experience. Great coach, great parents, kids learned a ton and improved. They didn't play kickball. Oh and we love our field, lol. The model is good for littles to have better soccer/life balance with less distance to go to practice. Spending less time in a car and more time with homework, sleep, and free time/unstructured play is a solid benefit. Drawbacks are not every age group is at every location. So player movement eliminates some of the benefits of the model. You don't get as much exposure to the other coaches unless you guest play.
Honestly FCVA-STJ is on the rise. They’re making some good hires. Once they build their Sterling facility, they’re going to be a force. 5-10 years from know I believe they’ll be the ones to beat. Only drawback though is that if they’re an Academy level player, I think they have to go all the way to Springfield.
