DS GPA 3.86 unweighted, 4.76 weighted, SAT 1530. He might retake SAT. Interested in the Engineering school. Can he get any money from UMD? We live in MD.
With an UW gpa of 3.86, your DS may struggle to get into engineering at UMD. It is a very competitive program. Will get no merit.
Do you actually know those who didn’t get with similar stats? Because when I am looking at the scattergram for his school he looks safe. I am aware that UMD is very competitive, but it appears that he falls within green. I am assuming that some of those kids went to the Engineering school.
Are there scattegrams for Engineering? You can be admitted to UMD Letters and Sciences (no immediate major) and be rejected from Engineering. (If that happens, you can try to reapply to Engineering during first year.)
