For example, I've been good friends with what looks like a diverse bunch - there was the son of a Black Panther, the Columbian poet, the multi-talented homeless Japanese guy, the metal head who played for the Hells Angels, etc. But wherever they fall on their race/class/country of origin etc, they're all outside mainstream politically. So in that sense, I'm friends with people who are more or less outsiders like I am. It's not really a diverse set even if could look like it on paper.[/quote]
