The company is totally cool with vacation and stepping out and whatever. This particular individual, who again, I do not report to, is not. Kind of tempted to just call in sick tomorrow. [/quote]

Calling in sick won't address a recurring meeting. You need to tell the a-hole that you have a standing personal appointment.  It could be therapy, it could be the gym, it could be a class you're taking, it could be drop off. You're not the one asking for flexibility here. He is the one going outside of normal business hours.[/quote]
