It’s interesting OP. The people-like myself-who have witnessed or come from places with semi recent history of political unrest, feel uneasy about the elections. Many Americans are like “silly people, it would never happen here.” But it can happen. It has happened throughout history. I have no idea how to prepare though? I mean I’m worried with either result but some of the language used by a certain person and his supporters raise all sorts of alarms. Like big, red, blaring alarms. His supporters would say I’m a snow flake leftist for saying it but I’m really not. And Btw-having an American passport means what exactly? That you can just flee to wherever you would like? It’s not how it works.
Thanks for responding. Concur with you. It is troubling to see so many on autopilot. For the last part, I didn't say passport, I said passport card. And I didn't say anywhere but I indicated to Canada (can travel over land with the card into Canada) and that might not even be a bet by the time I was able to get there. I spent a large portion of my professional career working with refugees so am fairly familiar with how this process works. Trudeau might leave the border open for folks with docs or he could shut it all down the moment Trump attempted to deploy the National Guard around the States.
