I don't think you will have another January 6th - Capitol Police/Congress aren't going to be caught unprepared like that again. I think it's very likely the city will be on some level of lockdown.

I hope our institutions are up to the task.
Your lack of self-awareness is laughable. Who stormed the Capitol? Who engaged in an insurrection? Who vandalized federal property? Who has been sentenced for the January 6th acts? Not leftists!
We have the summer of 2020 to see what havoc the left can cause to the country.
I have no doubt they will pull some of the same crap if Trump wins again.
Did they storm a state capitol, the US Capitol? Did they attempt to kidnap/lynch elected officials?

There are troubling signs as we approach the presidential election in November. Should I send my kids back to college with their passport card? To date, they've left their passports at home for safekeeping. Should I start carrying my card in my wallet?
I'm not looking to relocate permanently but be able to leave if necessary.
Of course, Canada may simply shut the border, even with proper documents, so there's that.
Just go to Texas, get close to the border and walk backward to Mexico. No one will notice.

Do you have cites for the use of violence by left affiliated groups? Antifa on J6 is not a correct answer.

Think through this, OP.
What would your kids do? Where would they go? What is your plan? What would be the "trigger" to instruct them to put these plans into place?
I think you are not thinking rationally.

Anonymous wrote:It’s interesting OP. The people-like myself-who have witnessed or come from places with semi recent history of political unrest, feel uneasy about the elections. Many Americans are like “silly people, it would never happen here.” But it can happen. It has happened throughout history. I have no idea how to prepare though? I mean I’m worried with either result but some of the language used by a certain person and his supporters raise all sorts of alarms. Like big, red, blaring alarms. His supporters would say I’m a snow flake leftist for saying it but I’m really not. And Btw-having an American passport means what exactly? That you can just flee to wherever you would like? It’s not how it works.

We are going to move back to the Netherlands after our kids finish middle school next year. This country is crazy and it’s only going to get worse if Trump wins.

We had Portland on the news every night. That was unambiguous. But it’s amazing how quickly people have forgotten the Inauguration Day violence. It’s been memory holed like Democrats election denialism.

+1. Exactly. Good riddance.
