I don’t have a best friend nor frankly any really good friends. Sometimes I wonder if there’s something wrong with me because I don’t feel the need to make any and don’t make any effort to get closer to the friends I have. But with a full time job, 2 kids, a husband and a mom who is local and who I am very close to….i have plenty of close relationships. Interested in what others have to say. I’m 48.
I'm 45. I've never been close to my mom although I am now her caregiver. My dad, to whom I was very closed, died a few years ago. I am an only child. I have a wonderful marriage but I also have a best best friend and multiple other woman who are very close friends who I make an effort to spend time with (most of them don't live near me). Maybe I was drawn to cultivate such relationships because I didn't have that big loving family other than my dad? No idea, but my best friend is super close to both of her parents and her brothers and their wives, so she is the opposite of me!
