You don't want to compete with that bunch. The two instances I know of students who really wanted UVA but didn't get in so went elsewhere transferred in after their first year at another college (but, FWIW, they did REALLY WELL at those institutions so had a good record and argument about being accepted). I wouldn't wait to transfer in for third year because of the guaranteed admission program from the community colleges.[/quote]
