The new NACS is an open standard.  Tesla does not earn royalties from it. The benefit for Tesla comes from adding a large pool of users for its charging network.[/quote]

But again, like battery technology, Tesla will only have the advantage for so long in its charging network. As the market matures, competitors will be able to compete on price and other factors as they build out competing networks- since they will have the same charging standard.[/quote]
