In Virginia, the games are done for ECNL as of February (or early March). That's why they do them so early. This is because public high school soccer is in spring (Maryland is in Fall). It's not just VA--but other states are like this as well.

That might be part of it but HS soccer being in the spring and ID sessions isn't making them put their ID sessions so early, its more to compete for players early to fill their rosters.  Put the sessions out in March earlier than a lot of other VA clubs that don't participate in ECNL, market them as early as January/February, create the FOMO, reap the rewards.[/quote]
