The breastfeeding center used to have a free support group which met weekly. The group used to split in to smaller groups to go out to lunch after. In my neighborhood the parenting email list serve/ Facebook group are also used to facilitate mom meetups - usually moms on maternity leave.
These were my suggestions. Maybe we are in the same neighborhood! It was funny, I went to the breastfeeding center a few times before one person spoke up at a meeting and suggested hanging out afterwards. Everyone who went was so grateful to have a chance to meet some friends. So if you go, didn't be afraid to be that person. Over time and changing nap schedules, neighborhood friends ended up being crucial. I think our group formed when someone suggested a park meet up on the neighborhood parents Facebook page. In case you try to set something up, we found it more successful to have a regular time and place to start off.
