another recommendation for PACE. I joined in 2020 and babies ranged from few days old to 3 months. The group was super supportive and we are all still in touch. It has been an INVALUABLE resource, helping with answers , solidarity and support to so many of the situations and concerns that arise during the postpartum period and parenting in the early years. I balked at the cost initially as well but it has been more than worth it.
I wrote to PACE while i was still pregnant- did not hear back for a while and after a few repeated emails heard back from them a little after the birth - they matched me with folks who had delivered around the same time.

Mamistad is for moms who are pregnant with their first! Wish I'd done it. A friend just told me she had great success too - and lots of good resources.

I had a friend join a mom group in NYC in her neighborhood and two of her besties are from that group, their kids all play together and are close.

Prenatal yoga scored me some friends. Plus I told my midwife to feel free to set me up with mom friends and she did.

The babies in my PACE group ranged from 5 weeks to 9 weeks old when we started. It was the best thing I ever did. It’s been almost 16 years and several of us still get together for dinner from time to time and a couple of us are really close.

These were my suggestions. Maybe we are in the same neighborhood!

It was funny, I went to the breastfeeding center a few times before one person spoke up at a meeting and suggested hanging out afterwards. Everyone who went was so grateful to have a chance to meet some friends. So if you go, didn't be afraid to be that person.

Over time and changing nap schedules, neighborhood friends ended up being crucial. I think our group formed when someone suggested a park meet up on the neighborhood parents Facebook page. In case you try to set something up, we found it more successful to have a regular time and place to start off.

That sucks, mine was SO supportive. Really.

PACE was totally worth the cost to me.

But I also agree with just walking with the baby a lot and saying hi to everyone with a baby you see.

It’s also a good way to meet Nannies.

Instead, I found support in my neighbors. You sound like an outgoing person. You’ll meet moms on walks. I was new to my neighborhood too and my husband joked that every time I went out, I was picking up a new mom friend. I’m normally kind of shy but I really made the effort to chat up the moms, and all responded warmly.
