DC is 13.

School plans to suspend him for a day tomorrow.

I think suspension from a learning environment is stupid (but will do it if that’s what they impose), but kid should have to work to pay back 2-5x the value of what they stole.

Defenitely make it the most long, boring day ever. DC has to do their schoolwork and if it's online, sitting next to you so they can't use the device for any fun. Also, dc needs to work to pay back what they stole, and it should be something hard and labor intensive, possibly dirty. Perhaps raking and bagging the leaves from the whole yard (if you have one) or scrubbing all the grout and baseboards in the house and cleaning the garage or basement. The idea is to connect the thought of stealing with the thought of 'hard' labor, as a deterrent.[/quote]
