Are people on this thread aware of the new theater and lunch facility at Stone Ridge? Stone Ridge is stronger academically. All that said, I might pick Madeira for an introvert. Where do you live?
This again. Stone Ridge is NOT stronger academically. Madeira has a higher average SAT score than SR, though the ACT score is the same for both schools. Both schools have one 2024 National Merit Semifinalist. What’s your data?
Madeira and SR are both great schools and offer challenging academic paths for kids who need/want them. Splitting hairs on which school is academically stronger is just silly. SR has a very good art program and gorgeous new theater, but the arts at Madeira are excellent as well. SR is stronger athletically across the board so if your DD is less interested in sports, Madeira might be a better option because she might feel more comfortable trying something new if the overall feel of the athletics program was a bit less intense. Did your daughter have a strong reaction to either? I would let her take the lead here, with the edge going to geography.
