We’re about to buy Tesla number 3. Had the first one for 6 years and the second for 3. We love them. Have a level 2 charger at home and work.
I only drive BMWs and they’ve always been fabulous and lasted 10 years or more. Why would you buy a car that you need to dispose of after only 3 years? That’s a red flag.
+1 I too wondered about getting rid of a Tesla after 3 years
Just like some people like to upgrade their iPhones, some car owners like to upgrade to the latest and greatest model. Although Tesla doesn’t change the names of their vehicles, they upgrade minor aspects of the hardware in each vehicle each year. And once every six to eight years, Tesla releases a major refresh (which they are doing this year). Compared to the original Tesla 3 model released 2018, the redesigned Tesla Model 3 Performance, slated for release in 60 days, includes: redesigned front and rear fascia LED headlights that dynamically adjust brightness and direction to oncoming traffic and road conditions to achieve maximum brightness without blinding incoming drivers greater efficiency and range due to improvements in aerodynamics much quieter cabin (noise dampening glass and insulation throughout) greater acceleration (0-60 in 2.9 seconds) more comfortable seats (heavier bolstering with ventilation; previously, only had heating) smoother ride (redesigned suspension to soften impacts) upgraded AI computer and upgraded cameras for cruise control, self driving, and safety features upgraded Playstion-level 3D video processor and a new video screen in the back that allows rear passengers to stream shows and movies (Netflix, Disney, etc) and play games using standard Bluetooth controllers and headphones upgraded cellular connectivity and in-vehicle Internet (LTE to 5G) upgraded 17-speaker sound system redesigned interior lighting and lots of other minor tweaks
